Stasia Chalova – Musical Director

Stasia is a force of nature! Her boundless energy and enthusiasm make every rehearsal uplifting and fun, and we usually leave grinning from ear to ear.
She first joined Three Valleys Gospel Choir in November 2022 as a singer, soon after arriving in the UK from Ukraine with support from Calder Community Cares. Very quickly, it became clear that she had an outstanding voice and natural leadership skills.
Stasia threw herself into local music life — studying at university, joining other choirs and ensembles (including the Fantasy Orchestra) — and blossomed in both confidence and musicianship. She became our Deputy Musical Director in September 2023, and stepped up to lead the choir when Ann went on maternity leave in 2024.
Now as our full-time Musical Director, Stasia continues to inspire us to sing at our best, explore exciting new music, and most of all, enjoy every moment together. We love her to bits and think she is just fabulous!
Ann Hudson – Deputy Musical Director

Ann is an experienced singing teacher, vocal coach, and choir leader. She also directs the Heptonstall Hilltoppers, a community Rock and Pop choir, and keeps her own performing voice in shape through her vintage act Jessica Jive, celebrating the greats from Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday to Doris Day and The Andrews Sisters.
Ann joined Three Valleys Gospel Choir as Musical Director in September 2023, guiding us with her expertise until May 2024, when she went on maternity leave to welcome her twin girls. During this time, Stasia (then Deputy MD) took on the full leadership role.
In February 2025, Ann chose to continue with us as Deputy Musical Director, allowing her to balance family life with her love of music. She now supports Stasia and steps in to lead when needed — and we’re delighted that she remains part of our choir family.
